The people behind Dissident’s Toolbox are not professional security consultants. We are enthusiastic amateurs. For the most part, we are Linux users, encryption enthusiasts, a privacy activist, a couple of IT consultants, a developer, and parents of young children.
What we hope to accomplish is for activists of all kinds to use best practices in security and encryption in order to avoid being shut down, harassed, persecuted, corralled, “kettled“, or otherwise impeded in your activism. We believe that it will take extreme measures for the world to be in better shape in four years than it is in right now, and things aren’t even that great at the moment.
If you’d like to contribute or need to point out some errata on the site, we take well-intentioned criticism gracefully. You can reach us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or via our Twitter account: @dissidenttools
